3 games into the new season and the Phoenix Suns have fired head coach Earl Watson per reports from Adrian Wojnarowski. The Suns started the season 0-3 and suffered the worst loss in franchise history, losing by 48 points to the Portland Trail Blazers in the season opener. They allowed 132 points to the Los Angeles Lakers in a two-point loss and then were blown out by the Los Angeles Clippers 130-88 on Saturday.

associate head coach Jay Triano will be named interim head coach. Triano coached the Toronto Raptors from 2008 to 2011 with a record of 87-142. Watson was named the Suns' interim coach on Feb. 1, 2016, after Phoenix fired Hornacek. He went 9-24 the rest of the 2015-16 season, and the Suns finished 24-58 last season.
