Perth stadium solution

The West Coast Eagles and Fremantle Dockers have been doing there best to persuade the AFL as to which team should host the first home game, for premiership points, at the new stadium. I have a simple way of getting around this problem. But form starters I would like to let everyone know straight away that I am an Eagles fan I’m being unbiased.
The stadium has been well over due with West Coast Eagles out growing Subiaco Oval over 15 years ago and after a very long review the new stadium was finally commissioned with it being built at the old Burswood golf course site. The stadium is now ready to host games after the AFL finally negotiated playing games at the stadium after getting a better pay deal for games.

So who gets the first game and bragging right for opening the new stadium? Well the Eagles have been around longer and almost always filled Subiaco Oval week in, week out and Dockers have been known to take games off if the team is not going that well.
This is a simple solution to the problem with both teams playing each other twice a season and maybe just for the 2018 season they play the games a neutral site with 50/50 ticket made available for each club. How good would it be round 1 on Friday night (Richmond/Carlton on Thursday night) half the stadium in blue and gold and the other half in purple as both team get to celebrate opening this great new stadium together and share in the history as one.
Sadly we contacted the AFL and they have quickly discarded this idea as too difficult for the clubs to manage their member base, who wish to attend 11 home game and not 10 home games. That is a real shame that the AFL have decided not to go down this path for the first game at the new stadium.
