English Premier League Handicap tip

There might be many ‘Premier Leagues’ in the world BUT there is only ONE English Premier League and what a season it could be this year after the ‘fairy-tale’ of Leicester winning it all. Im not a huge fan of the round ball and im not going to do that many write ups this season on the sport unless something is really good. Soccer is the hardest thing to bet on and the main reason for me to say that is because of the draw. You might have a 3 leg multi and that last get is up 2-1 and it’s late in the game and the other team scores late to ‘rescue’ a draw. Before I go any further I would like to point out that I am a diehard Middlesbrough fan and im about to do a write up about them right now but I will try and limit my talk about the mighty Boro

Season Handicap

After what ive just written you could say im a bit biased with this tip but Middlesbrough have been the busiest in the off season with 9 new signing with more rumoured to come as well. They haven’t just signed young players for cheap they have gone out and bought or got full season loans players like Alvaro Negredo who is a beast and will love Middlesbrough’s playing style. At the other end they have signed former Barcelona legend shot stopper Victor Valdes on a free transfer from Man Utd.

Both Negredo and Valdes are low cost, high reward if both can play at their best this season a great return can be seen. Boro manager Aitor Karanka has been smart bring in players like Marten de Roon who cost a club record fee of 12 million pounds and will be the midfield anchor for the team and Viktor Fischer from Ajax for what could be a cheap 3.8 million pounds if his form from the summer where he was great for his country Denmark. They to help and create competition in the midfield where a lot of holdover is from last season.

I know im taking as a fan here and im trying my best not to, but the only weakness Middlesbrough have right now is the defence with CB Daniel Ayala will miss the start of the season and Karanaka has already stated he wants to bring in more defence help and if he can that will help even more.

The start of the season is really important for all clubs but with Middlesbrough starting the season with ‘easier’ games against Stoke, Sunderland, WBA, Crystal Palace, West Ham and Watford in their first 8 games with Everton and Tottenham the only mini majors they have to take on before taking on one of the heavy weights of the Premier League in Arsenal in late October

I really like Boro to have a great season and have a great chance to make the top 10 this season and survive the first season drop. With that in mind I looked at the top 10 odds and they have moved from 11/1 to 8/1 (I personally got on at 11/1) but with this mindset im looking at the Handicap and the books have them with about a 40 point head start. For a mid-table finish that I see that could happen they would need about 45-55 points for the season to take in mind the 41 that the books are giving that could be a 86-96 points and most of the time the top teams that win it all have about 80-90 points.

The odds for the Handicap is 16/1 (much better than the 8/1 for a top 10 bet)

Booking at the books and at the moment Crownbet have the best odds with them at 16/1 with +41 handicap with bet365 at 16/1 and a +40 mark. Sportsbet on the other hand have them at +37 and are 15/1 with them 17/1 only a few days ago so there has been some money for them at sportsbet. But the real indication that this could be a great bet is that Betfair’s market have them at +40 equal favourites at 13/1 with last year’s champions Leicester who Have a handicap of +19 points.
