Newly acquired tackle Branden Albert has retired after only 9 seasons in the NFL and only just been acquired by the Jaguars before the draft for FA bust TE Julius Thomas.

This is a blow for the Jaguar who was hoping he would start LT for them this season but now has retired but it could all rest on rookie Cam Robinson who has shown some good signs at training camp so far.

this could be a huge blow for the Jags this season

With Albert retiring the 2018 7th round pick that was a part of the trade to the Dolphins will return to the Jaguars.

With this retirement it adds to a long list of early players retiring early and it looks like it won’t change anytime in the future. Good luck to Branden in his future.

However if he stays retired, he owes $3.4M back in old signing bonus to the Jaguars so this could be a costly move for him
